The Proposal and Marketing Specialist supports the full lifecycle in the development of proposals, as well as other key marketing initiatives for multiple sectors including Public Buildings, Transportation and Education. This team member will work in collaboration with principal Business Development personnel and global subject matter experts to create best-in-class materials that demonstrate NORR’s strengths and abilities to our world-class client base and to drive the growth strategy of the Company. This role may be remote or may work out of one of our Canadian offices (Calgary, Ottawa or Toronto) or US (Detroit, Chicago, Philadelphia, Sacramento) offices.
Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinates the proposal response process from receipt of the Request for Proposal (RFP) to the assembly and delivery/submission
Ensures a quality on-time submission is complete, detailed, accurate and meets all formatting and submission requirements
Defines, oversees and coordinates the proposal response plan, schedule, and internal communications associated with the proposal development including follow-up with contributors
Drafts corporate level and market sector content including Company information, project experience and team resumes
Maintains and updates corporate databases to ensure accuracy and currency of information on employee resumes, project sheets and project information, client lists, certifications, and photography
Prepares qualification packages, presentations, brochures, award submissions, advertisements, announcements, and other promotional events
Supports Business Development Managers and Senior Proposal and Business Development Specialists in their respective marketing initiatives
Required Skills
Have successfully completed related post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications or Design
Able to work in a team environment and collaborate on assignments
Must have the ability to identify work tasks and prioritize them in relation to the overall proposal production activity and deadlines
Technical proficiency with Adobe Creative Suites including InDesign and Photoshop
Technical proficiency with MS Office Suite including Powerpoint
Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment while handling multiple projects simultaneously
Working knowledge of OpenAsset or other Data Asset Management tool preferred but not required
Knowledge of Canadian Government organization, procurement processes/cycles, and RFP/solicitation types is highly desirable
Excellent business writing, editing and proofreading skills; Eye for design and layout; Rigorous attention to detail; Excellent time management skills. Able to work effectively within a team as well as independently.
Required Experience
5-8 years experience with proposal requests
Experience in Public Buildings pursuits is an asset
